Dr John Lowe awarded an ERC Starter Grant

The Faculty of Linguistics congratulates Dr John Lowe for his outstanding success in winning the prestigious ERC Starter Grant 2019: ERC Starter Grant 2019. This highly-coveted funding rightly recognises the worth of Dr Lowe’s proposal: “Linguistics from India: new ideas for modern linguistics from ancient India”. These grants enable the selected scientists build their own research teams, creating an estimated 2,500 jobs for postdoctoral fellows, PhD students and other staff at the host institutions.
